VOLPE
PCN Strategies provides analysis and consultation support to the Volpe Center for predicting the influence of atmospheric turbulence on the temporal development of the wake vortex instability in ground effect, with a particular emphasis on
closely spaced parallel runway related operations.
The Work:
Assisting Volpe Center in the review of literature relevant to atmospheric turbulence on the temporal development of the wake vortex instability in ground effect.
Identifying any modification(s) or refinement(s) needed to meet analysis objectives based upon current engineering expertise together with technical information/data gathered from the relevant existing literature.
Help Volpe integrate an analytical framework for computing wake instability evolution as output with turbulence measurements as input.
