Certificate Management Information System (CMIS)
CMIS allows the FAA to ensure operational safety in the aircraft manufacturing environment and delegated facilities, providing the FAA with automation support for the
evaluation and approval of the production activities of industry manufacturers/suppliers as well as for the management of these FAA certificate holders. The users of the CMIS application include managers, inspectors, engineers, and evaluators from both manufacturing and engineering communities.
CMIS was initially developed as a Domino/Lotus Notes application, and Lockheed Martin is tasked to re-develop CMIS as a web-based application and port it to a .Net environment utilizing SQL Server 2005 and ASP.Net 2.0. PCN Strategies worked to staff the CMIS re-development project, and the resulting PCN Strategies team is responsible for a successful data migration, application and data testing, and the maintenance of the legacy CMIS application on Domino. PCN Strategies application development services provide crucial resources and have filled key positions that make the CMIS redevelopment and porting feasible under current FAA deadlines. Given the high-visibility of the CMIS project, its impact on the manufacturing process at all aircraft manufacturing plants globally, and its wide reach to both FAA and manufacturing personnel, Lockheed Martin counts on PCN Strategies staffing and project management services for continued project success.
